CHAPEL OAKS ON 3E ALARM APARTMENT FIRE

 November 29, 2004

At 1720 communication alerted units to respond to 4434 68th PL on box 30-12 Coopers Crossing Apartments Units arrived on the scene with heavy fire showing. Due to heavy fire conditions a second alarm was sounded. A short time later a third alarm was sounded bringing E-384 and A-389. When 384 arrived on side Charlie fire was still showing. The crew from 38 conducted primary and secondary search of the second and third floor of the building. Chief 38 was on the scene as Battalion Chief 1 Chief 38A was on the scene as Division Chief 1. Four firefighters and four civilians suffer minor injuries. The cause of the fire may have been cause by a BBQ on the 2nd floor balcony. Note There was a brush fire an hour before the apartment fire at the same address. Company 38 clear the scene in about two hours.
